Author Biographies

Simon Walker, Head of Educational Development, University of Greenwich

Simon Walker is a National Teaching Fellow and Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is the Head of Educational Development at the University of Greenwich, with a role in developing university policy and strategy on learning and teaching excellence, and supporting professional development for academic staff. He co-led the development of the Students as Change Agents UK Network.

Reece Horsley

Reece previously coordinated the University of Lincoln’s portfolio of academic opportunities, including Student Recruiters, Student Reviewers, as well as Students Consulting on Teaching (SCoTs). As a student, Reece was a reviewer for the QAA and worked as a researcher on the HEA funded ‘Pedagogies of Partnership: What works?’ project.

John-Paul Dickie

John-Paul is the former Vice President Academic Affairs 2016/17 at the University of Lincoln Students’ Union representing 14,000 students on the student academic experience, learning and teaching and leading the academic representation system. As an undergraduate student, John-Paul was involved in the academic representation system and in various student engagement projects at the University of Lincoln.

Emily Parkin

Emily Parkin previously lead the Student Engagement Team at the University of Lincoln, supporting the institutional network of Student Engagement Champions and coordinating change to policies and practice to help embed the University's culture of working in partnership with students across all academic and professional service departments

Sarah Knight, Jisc

Sarah Knight is a Senior Co-design Manager in the Student Experience team in the Jisc Digital Futures directorate. Sarah currently manages the Digital Student project which is researching students’ expectations and experiences of the digital environment in further and higher education. Sarah also has responsibility for supporting the Jisc funded Change Agents’ Network, a national network to support staff-student partnership working on technology enhanced curriculum projects.
