Author Biographies

Sarah Flynn, University of Hertfordshire

Sarah Flynn is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a National Teaching Fellow. She is Deputy Director of the Centre for Learning, Access, and Student Success at the University of Hertfordshire, with responsibility for learning and teaching excellence.  Sarah has many years’ experience in academic development and supporting curriculum design processes, specialising in experiential learning, vocationally current curricula and authentic assessment. She teaches on the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. Her expertise in employability and student placements has been fostered by long standing work with ASET, the Work-Based and Placement Learning Association, and collaboration with the UK Quality Assurance Agency. Her scholarly activity centres on authentic pedagogy, employability, and equitable experiences and outcomes for all students.

Lucy Bamwo, Barking and Havering, Redbridge, University NHS Trust

Lucy is the Digital Education & Development Manager at Barking and Havering, Redbridge, University NHS Trust. Her previous role as Digital Capabilities Manager at the University of Hertfordshire oversaw the STM programme. Lucy has worked in both FE and HE for over 20 years, with a passion for partnerships and inclusivity.
